Heart Fruit Pizza


This recipe has been used for our final banquet now and again. It is the perfect Valentine’s recipe – give to your sweetheart even!

Supplies:

Pre-made sugar cookie (Pillsbury or the like)

1 “block” of cream cheese

1 lemon for squeezing fresh juice

¼ cup sugar

1-2 pints fresh strawberries


Spray a cookie sheet lightly with cooking spray.

Remove the dough from the wrapper. Depending on what size you want to make your heart, cut two equal slices off for the top parts of your heart. Roll into balls. The rest of the dough is used for the “body” of the heart.


Line up the two smaller balls of dough with the larger amount and flatten. Continue to form a heart shape by using your palm to form the “edge”. Keep it from spreading too thin. You wan the dough to be about ¼ inch thick. Note! It WILL spread out!





Bake at 350 degrees for 20-some minutes, until light brown. Let cool.

While your cookie bakes and cools, wash and slice the strawberries into thin, uniform slices. Set aside.



Next, make your cream cheese “frosting”. Mix cream cheese that is at room-temperature with the fresh squeezed lemon juice and sugar. Add both in slowly and stop to taste it as you go. Once it is tangy and sweet, set aside.



Once your cookie has cooled, “doctor” it up if necessary by trimming the cookie to look more like a heart.



Spread cream cheese on cookie, keeping it nice and even.





Lay strawberries nice and even across the cookie –
